SCIENTIFIC RATIONALE

Fabry disease is a rare, progressive, multisystem lysosomal storage disorder that requires early recognition, accurate diagnosis and structured long-term monitoring. The heterogeneity of its clinical presentation and the multisystem nature of the disease make patient management complex and strongly dependent on an integrated, multidisciplinary approach.

This masterclass is designed for medical specialists involved in the care of patients with rare and metabolic diseases. The program offers a practice-oriented educational experience hosted at the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Federico II, combining focused scientific updates with structured clinical activities.

Through supervised activities across various hospital departments, participants will deepen their understanding of diagnostic pathways, discuss real-life clinical cases, and gain practical insight into therapeutic strategies, infusion management and patient follow-up.

The course aims to consolidate clinical competence and promote best practices in the management of Fabry disease.
